Kewanee police blotter for July 15
Elise L. Lorang-Louis Holms, 29, Kewanee, was arrested for a Grundy County warrant for failure to appear for driving with a suspended license following a report to check business in the 200 block of West Third Street. She was given a notice to appear. Charles L. Holms, 30, Kewanee, was arrested for a Henry County warrant for failure to appear for aggravated domestic battery and resisting. He was transported to the Henry County Jail.

Good evening Des Moines, Iowa City and Quad Cities assignment desks,. Here is an 11:00 p.m. storm update for Monday, July 15, 2024. As of 11:00 p.m., about 40,000 MidAmerican customers are currently without electric service due to tonight’s severe storm outbreak, including more than 31,000 in the Quad Cities metro area, just under 8,500 in the Des Moines metro area and about 90 in the Iowa City area.
Widespread Power Outages and Damage Following Strong Storms
There are widespread power outages throughout the area. Thousands are without power in the immediate area. There are trees down, power lines down, roads are blocked, highways are blocked, so stay home if possible. Travel will be difficult. Parts of Kewanee got more than 70 mph winds. PLEASE stay home. Many, many roads are blocked by trees and utility lines and police and fire need room to do their jobs.
