State police help with death investigation in Mechanic Falls
MECHANIC FALLS — Maine State Police were on scene of a death investigation Saturday afternoon at a home on Highland Avenue, according to police. Maine Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said state police are assisting Mechanic Falls police with a death investigation and that there is no threat to the public.

Judge rejects Auburn man’s efforts to move double-murder trial
AUBURN — A judge rejected this week a local man’s efforts to move his trial on two murder charges stemming from a 2023 slaying in Poland to a different county.
