Hornell Evening Tribune
The Allegany County Fair is one of the first county fairs out of the gate each summer, fitting snugly into mid-July at the fairgrounds in the Village of Angelica.
The 179th edition of the "Fair with a country smile" runs July 15-20, 2024.
Agriculture and history are at the heart of fair, and that's showcased at the animal barns, 4-H Education Buildings, Shawmut Railroad cars and the Fair and County museums.
Of course there is a lot more to do and see — like grandstand events, a working saw mill, Mini Theater performances suitable for the whole family, midway rides and fair food.
Gate admission is $10 with the exception of Wednesday, when the Family Day admission price is $5. The admission ticket provides full access to the fairgrounds and grandstand events. Children under four are admitted at no cost.
