Good late morning everyone. While there's not much going on weather-wise across a wide swath of land, we do have a couple of trouble spots growing as we speak.

A stubborn area of low pressure continues to meander off of the Southeast Coast. With it, that juicy air is teaming up to produce heavy showers and thunderstorms across parts of Florida. We also have a narrow band of heavy showers & storms stretching from northeast edge of Horry County in South Carolina, through eastern North Carolina, and brushing the southeast corner of Virginia.

While we don't expect widespread severe weather, some embedded thunderstorms may reach severe limits. As our bulk of energy edges closer to the east cloast of Florida, winds in excess of 50mph, copious amounts of rain, and waterspouts are possible.

As the afternoon wears on and we get into the evening hours, that energy may sink south and concentrate over the Ft. Lauderdale and Miami area. This is where we will see the greatest flash flooding risk. Isolated severe weather is also possible in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia as that arm of tropical moisture sits over the area. In poor drainage areas, we could also see isolated flash flood conditions.

We will keep a close eye on that low pressure offshore for any development, but the chances of development are low for now. Regardless, it can still create a lot of headaches much like it did in Florida several weeks ago. This is an opportunity for some much-needed rain, but too much, too fast, can cause serious flooding issues.
