Good morning everyone. We have a really beautiful stretch in the Northeast lining up, where mild to warm air and low humidity grace us until Sunday. Morning clouds will give way to a mix of sun & clouds in most spots, then sunshine is with us for a fairly long stretch starting tomorrow.

We'll also watch surf and seas settle down with Hurricane Ernesto's departure past Newfoundland, and tropical activity overall is non-existent for the time being; which is good news for the entire East Coast and Caribbean.

We do have a few trouble spots and we'll take you there right now. The first is leftover heavy showers and rumbles across parts of the Midwest, including central & eastern South Dakota, eastern Nebraska, central & eastern Kansas, and burshing northeast Ohio. While we don't have severe weather in this area, look for locally heavy rain, gusty winds, and frequent lightning.

The severe risk remains resevred for parts of Montana, and possibly in southeast Colorado, Northeast New Mexico, the western tip of Oklahoma Panhandle, and possibly nipping southwest Kansas. Expect isolated heavy storms to begin to pop this afternoon and evening, then we'll do it again tomorrow in the same spots.

Tomorrow will be the better chance for some severe weather, but both days we can see some large hail, frequent lightning, damaging winds, torrential rain, and the possibility for isolated tornadoes.

Here is your local NYC Metro forecast -

Morning clouds will give way to some blue breaks this afternoon. It'll be mild with highs in the mid 70's and a steady NNW flow. Full sunshine returns tomorrow with more mid 70's and very dry conditions.

Thursday is another sunny one, with low humidity and highs 75-80. Friday we begin to warm up but it's still relatively comfortable humidity-wise and in the low to mid 80's.

Your weekend is when the humidity begins to return, however, sunshine remains. Expect mid 80's on Saturday with increasing humdiity, then upper 80's to near 90 on Sunday and muggy conditions.
