Good morning everyone. In yesterday morning's article, we talked about a front that would become stationary and stall over the Southeast and Florida; sending waves of energy along it. Unfortunately, that scenario has come to fruition and parts of Florida are in for a rough day as far as heavy showers and thunderstorms, isolated severe weather, and flash flooding in spots.

Slow moving heavy showers and storms are in good concentration and moving through central parts of Florida, whereas north Florida and south Florida are seeing more of the scattered variety for now. Special marine warnings have been issued until 12:45pm ET along the west coast in regards to heavier storms embedded within these clusters, and are capable of locally dangerous/damaging conditions, plus the added risk of waterspouts. We may also see these warnings extended and moved as needed.

This trend will continue today, with a better chance of isolated severe weather within these storms. The biggest risk will be locally damaging winds, hail, frequent lightning, and flooding, but we cannot rule out more waterspouts and the possibility of an isolated tornado.

Expect this scenario to play out almost every day for the next week as that front lingers. We will also keep a close eye out for any tropical development that could be spawned by old fronts this time of season.

Elsewhere, we have a redux of severe weather possible in parts of eastern Colorado, Nebraska, and Kansas. Yesterday, Kansas fell short and missed out on the action, but we saw tennis ball size hail and damaging winds in parts of Nebraska and South Dakota.

It'll be very similar to yesterday, with small clusters and/or individual cells running the show; and not everyone will see action. Regardless, those who do see storms will be at risk for very large hail, damagign winds, torrential rain, frequent lightning, and the chance of an isolated tornado.
