Good morning everyone. We have some clouds and showers around in parts of the Northeast as the squeeze play is on between cooler and more comfortable air up in New England, and very warm and humid air to the west/southwest. This will be a fight to the finish over the next few days, but the very warm stuff only wins out for 1 day Sunday before comfortable temps & dry conditions return all next week.

Our eyes turn to parts of Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, and Missouri today for the chance of some nasty thunderstorms later this afternoon. Michigan and the border area of Ohio and Indiana have the best chance to see some severe weather, but we can't rule anything out along that cold front which drapes all the way down into Texas. The biggest risk with severe weather today and tonight will be damaging winds, frequent lightning, large hail, torrential rain, and the possibility for a few tornadoes; especially up by the northern flank of this system.

We also remain focused on tropical moisture along the Gulf Coast of Texas and Louisiana as that cold front helps draw up the energy. Look for another round of heavy showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, with some flash flooding possible in the notoriously flood prone areas.

Clouds are stubborn today, with mid 70's as highs and scattered showers likely throughout the rest of early afternoon hours.

We'll see a few more blue patches tomorrow as we climb near 80, but the risk of scattered showers sticks around. Sunday is much warmer, with more clouds than sun and highs in the upper 80's. This time, thunderstorms will be the turning point as far as heat and humidity.

Monday and Tuesday both look very comfortable, with sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 70's.
