Good morning everyone. The Northeast continues to get the best weather across the land right now. with high pressure protecting the area from everything and anything. We also have comfortably warm conditions that'll remain into mid-week next week as 75-80 degree temps dominate from Pennsylvania into New England. There's not else much to say aside from some morning fog in coastal regions, but that'll burn off with sunshine and near 80 degree temps.

An area that is not enjoyable right now, is parts of the Southeast, Gulf Coast, and Mississippi Valley. The remnants of Hurricane Francine will cause widespread severe weather and heavy rain today across the panhandle of Florida, western Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Illinois, and Kentucky. Widespread brief tornadoes will be the primary risk in heavier cells, plus copious amounts of rain will cause some flooding issues along swollen rivers and streams.

We'll also look for a growing severe weather risk in North Dakota and South Dakota as low pressure exits the Rockies and bumps into some relatively moist and warm air. This risk will most likely reveal itself later today and/or tonight across western parts of the Dakotas. Very large hail, frequent lightning, damaging winds, torrential rain, and the chance of an isolate tornado, will be the risk factors.

Here is your local NYC Metro forecast -

Look for some AM fog this morning, then PM sun and comfortably warm temps near 80. We'll be a touch warmer in the low to mid 80's tomorrow, with more sunshine and slightly more humid conditions.

Temperatures return to near 80 on Saturday and Sunday with full sunshine and pleasant weather.

Your workweek starts off the same, with more sunshine and near 80 temps both Monday and Tuesday. Each day, some patchy AM fog will be possible around coastal areas and valleys.
