Good morning everyone. Low pressure off of the Mid-Atlantic/Northeast coast has wobbled away just enough to bring some extra sunshine into areas of the Northeast and interior parts of New England. This will provide us with a warmer-than-expected day as highs reach into the low 80's in spots. Unfortunately, low pressure will wobble back twice, once tomorrow and once on Saturday morning before finally pulling away for good.

This means areas of the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, will see a new round of clouds and showers tomorrow. Meanwhile, extreme southeast Massachusetts & Rhode Island, could see another round on Saturday. Look for the continuation of coastal flooding issues along the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut shores due to the prolonged onshore fetch, combined with astronomical high tides with the Harvest Moon. We could also see more enhanced tides along the Chesapeake Bay shorelines before finally settling down on Sunday.

Locally strong to severe storms continue to be a problem in Florida, and we will see a repeat of yesterday's action today. We already have very heavy showers and thunderstorms in extreme southwest Florida, as well as some heavier cells lurking around the Florida Keys & Key West itself. Look for locally damaging winds, hail, frequent lightning, torrential rain, flooding in poor drainage areas, and the risk of a few waterspouts. We could also see this same action pop up in a scattered variety from north to south throughout the state as the day wears on.

Our last stop is in the Upper Midwest, where severe weather is expected to fire back up this afternoon and tonight. We are seeing some leftover heavy showers and thunderstorms in Missouri, Iowa, and Wisconsin, but this is not the action we are concerned about. Look for a new broken line of severe weather to form in parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa tonight; possibly reaching the U.P. of Michigan. Expect widespread severe weather developing in these areas, with very large hail, winds in excess of 70mph, frequent lightning, torrential rain, and the risk for some tornadoes.

Here is your local NYC Metro forecast -

Look for clouds and sun today, then increasing clouds late. Highs today will be in the low 80's with that extra sunshine. We'll have a cloudy day tomorrow with scattered gusty showers and highs in the mid to upper 70's.

Clouds slowly decrease on Saturday with some mid 70's, then more sunshine on Sunday and slightly cooler in the low 70's.

By Monday, we are sunny and seasonable with near 70 temps and sunshine through Wednesday.
