Good afternoon everyone. As forecasted this morning, we are beginning to see clusters of scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms across parts of south Florida.

Sunshine working the atmosphere, combined with high humidity, hot temperatures, and local sea breezes, have helped create small "sea breeze" fronts around the shores of south Florida.

Heavy thunderstorms with frequent lightning and torrential rain have popped up all along the west coast near the Naples area, as well as just outside of Everglades City. We are also seeing some activity southeast of Cape Coral, and some heavy thunderstorms to the west/northwest of West Palm Beach and Port St. Lucie.

While we do not have severe weather watches or warnings at this time, we can still see some locally strong to severe thunderstorms. Look for the potential of locally damaging winds, hail, frequent lightning, torrential rain, and the possibility for a few waterspouts on either coast and/or Lake Okeechobee.
