Good afternoon everyone. Our next cold front in the Northeast and Great Lakes region is beginning to sweep through the area. While it is protecting everyone from the events in the Southeast, we will have to contend with some cold temperatures overnight tonight and tomorrow night.

In higher elevations and valleys across parts of Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia, temepratures are expected to dip near the freezing mark, and in some cases into the 20's. For this reason, the National Weather Service has issued frost advisories and freeze watches in regards.

We could even see those frost advisories extended into southwest New York depending on the cloud cover and winds. Clear skies and light winds can help with "radiational cooling", which basically allows warmer air of the day to escape faster, resulting in colder than expected temperatures.

Look for chilly air to modify during the weekend, then we'll have some even colder air to contend some time between Sunday night and Monday from west to east.
