Frost Advisories & Freeze Watches Also Posted for West Virginia & Maryland

Good morning everyone. The first set of cold nights for the season is upon many of us, and in some cases, the cold air arrives a little early. This is due to our cold front protecting the Northeast & Mid-Atlantic from our tropical energy, but comes at a price to farmers in the form of some frost and freeze conditions.

From the Ohio Valley, to the Appalachians, and into the Northeast & New England, we are expecting overnight low temperatues to dip down near or below the freezing mark. Widespread 20's and 30's are likley throughout interior areas of New York and New Jersey, as well as Pennsylvania and Virginia.

We will also see some cold temperatures in the high elevation mountainous and valley regions of West Virginia and Maryland, plus eastern parts of Ohio. For this reason, the National Weather Service has issued frost advisories and freeze watches across a wide area in this region.

We will also see similar conditions that will also prompt some frost advisories for interior sections of New England. Areas such as lower Vermont, western Massachusetts, and northwest Connecticut, will see near or below freezing temps.

Temperatures are expected to modify tomorrow and into the weekend, but expect another round of very cool to cold temps overnight Monday and onward. This could result in wider-scale areas of frost and freeze conditions.
