Heavy Showers & Thunderstorms Possible Across Parts of Kansas, Colorado, and New Mexico

More Heavy Snow Likely in the Colorado Rockies

Good morning everyone. The Northeast remains in the "sweet spot" compared to the rest of our real estate, with sunshine and mild temperatures now expected through Wednesday instead of Tuesday. 70 degree temperatures and sunny/dry conditions have taken hold along the coastal plain, and we may even see some 80's thrown in there on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, mid 70's should return, then we begin to return to the 60's by Thursday.

Across parts of south Florida and also south Texas, we could see another round of tropical heavy showers and thunderstorms. For Texas, this will be a new thing and a short-lived one as some tropical energy moves west off of the Gulf of Mexico. Look for more scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms, with locally gusty winds, frequent lightning, and heavy rain; especially along the Florida Keys.

Our main focus continues to be out west where our powerful low pressure is spooling up and bringing both heavy rains and heavy snows to parts of Colorado and New Mexico. Look for very heavy snows in the higher elevations, and the risk of locally strong to severe storms in the western plains and passes. As we saw yesterday, some storms could contain strong winds, large hail, frequent lightning, and torrential rain.

We could also see some of these scattered heavy storms nip areas of western Kansas, Oklahoma, and the panhandle of Texas. However, our system dries out as it tries to push further east, so some of our bigger cities remain dry.

We'll keep it short and sweet today for your weekend for forecast. Look for sunshine and near 70 degree temps today, then mid 70's tomorrow.

Near 80 temps take hold on Monday, then upper 70's for Tuesday. We'll grab on bonus day on Wednesday with mid 70's, then mid 60's by Thursday and dry.
