Isolated Severe Weather With Large Hail & Damaging Winds Reported

Good afternoon everyone. Strong to severe weather is ramping up across parts of Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska, as an upper level low pressure system continues to meander back in Colorado.

This latest spoke of energy is bumping into relatively warmer and more humid air, touching off heavy showers and thunderstorms in western Oklahoma, central Kansas, southeast Nebraska, and will all eventually slide into eastern Nebraska before weakening.

While we don't have any severe weather watches at this time, these storms have had a history of large hail, locally damaging winds, frequent lightning, and torrential rain. Due to the wind shear in the upper atmosphere, we also cannot rule out the risk of an isolated strong tornado with some of these larger thunderstorms.

As the evening wears on and the sun sets, we expect these storms to weaken, and our upper level low to dry out somewhat as high pressure whittle's it down and takes over.
