Young driver faced with road rage, allegedly struck by semi
A young man learning to drive had a frightening experience this week, when his car was struck by a semitrailer in an alleged incident of road rage. The youth was driving with his mother about 3:25 p.m. July 24 on County Road 3000 when a Farmington man driving a semitrailer allegedly struck the car and acted threateningly toward them.

The Aztec Police Department will get a boost when reserve officers enter the force through a new program approved in June by the City Commission. The program, which will begin in earnest next month, is designed to supplement present police ability with trained volunteers, explained Police Chief Bill Smith Sr. Applications for the reserve are now being taken by the police department and program coordinator Officer Richard Mahan. Qualifications include being a resident of Aztec, being at least 21 years of age and having a record clear of any felony arrest or any misdemeanor arrests that may fall under “moral turpitude.”
