    Yvette Vickers (1928 - 2010) was a legend in Hollywood B movies.

She appeared in two popular B movies with a science fiction horror theme, Attack of the 50 Foot Woman and Attack of the Giant Leeches. She also acted in other lesser-known films and was a model.

Vickers was beautiful and dated some of the most famous men in Hollywood at the time but the passage of time was not kind to her.

She married three times and had no children. Gradually, her career also dried up as she faded into obscurity.

Towards the end of her life, Vickers lived alone in a constant state of paranoia and she became a recluse in her own home in Beverly Hills.

No one knew how Vickers was doing until her body was discovered by a neighbor in 2011. Vickers' body was already in an advanced state of decomposition.

The neighbor found the body, withered and mummified. It was believed that the California weather and the presence of a space heater resulted in the mummification of Vickers' body.

The founder of Playboy magazine Hugh Hefner had this to say about Vickers' death,

“She lived a full life,” “But, in those final years, the fact that she was able to die and not have friends who would be aware of it immediately, that is sad.”
