Michigan's big commitment excited Wolverines fans

While the Michigan Wolverines have just eight commits so far in their 2025 recruiting class, head coach Sherrone Moore and staff have already been hard at work on the 2026 class.

On Tuesday, Moore and the Wolverines secured a commitment from 2026 four-star quarterback Brady Hart from Melbourne, Florida.

Hart announced the news on his X account.

According to the Detroit Free Press , Hart chose Michigan over the Clemson Tigers, Oregon Ducks, Ohio State Buckeyes, Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, and Miami Hurricanes.

The quarterback joins an ever-growing QB room that could feature the 2024 projected starter sophomore Alex Orji, four-star freshman Jadyn Davis, and 2025 four-star commit Carter Smith. In college football, though, it’s always better to be overstocked than understocked, especially at such a premium position.

Additionally, snagging a recruit that Ohio State and Oregon, the two teams who will likely join Michigan near the top of the Big Ten for years to come, is a no-brainer for Moore and his staff.

Hart’s sophomore season saw him lead Cocoa High School to a 14-1 record and a state championship. He went 288-for-437 and threw for 41 touchdowns to just 11 interceptions. It was his first season as a starter, so there’s a chance that those numbers will go up over the next two seasons.

There’s also the matter of him having the perfect name for a Michigan player, as it combines the names of 2000 Orange Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady and three-time All-Big Ten running back Mike Hart.

Social media had a lot to say about the news.
