    Renaissance Venture Capital Names Christina Drake and Kimberly Reno as Partners

    Renaissance Venture Capital in Ann Arbor, a fund of funds supporting the growth of venture capital investment in Michigan, has named Christina Drake and Kimberly Reno as partners.

    Venture Capital.  “Renaissance’s role in the venture capital community continues to grow, thanks to the UnDemo DaysÒ that Christina manages and the importance of Kimberly’s compliance and financial work.”

    In addition to her new role as partner, Reno also is the chief financial officer and chief compliance officer of Renaissance. In this role, she oversees financial reporting and planning for Renaissance, and ensures compliance with registered investment advisor requirements with the SEC.

    Reno has been part of Renaissance since 2018. She was previously with Water Street Healthcare Partners, a private equity group in Chicago with more than $2.2 billion in assets under management and approximately 18 portfolio companies. At Water Street, Reno was responsible for corporate and fund accounting functions. She also worked over four years as an auditor for Plante Moran.

    A Grosse Pointe resident, Reno is a CPA with a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University.

    Drake leads the connection work between venture funds across the U.S. and Michigan-based start-ups. She is responsible for UnDemo DayÒ, a unique event bringing together high-potential startups seeking funding, venture capitalists from around the U.S., and major corporations. The event has received national acclaim for its attraction of venture capital to the state. The next Renaissance UnDemo DayÒ is slated for Oct. 2 at Ford Field in Detroit.     Drake previously worked for six years as a consultant at FEG Investment Advisors, working with non-profit institutions across the U.S. to build long-term portfolios with a focus on diverse asset managers. Prior to that, she spent seven years at Bridgewater Associates, one of the largest hedge funds in the world.

    A Royal Oak resident, Drake is a graduate of Butler University’s Lacy School of Business with degrees in marketing and communications studies.

    Both are members of Renaissance’s Management Committee and Investment Committee.
