    Top 10 Takeover dining series: Tickets available for Peridot in Ann Arbor

    In the last leg of the 2024 Detroit Free Press/Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers Top 10 Takeover, the dinner series is heading to Ann Arbor.

    On Aug. 13, guests are invited to join Freep dining and restaurant critic Lyndsay C. Green and food writer Susan Selasky for a four-course dinner at Peridot , a Vietnamese cocktail bar and restaurant helmed by longtime Ann Arbor restaurateurs Watershed Hospitality Group and Duc Tang of Pacific Rim by Kana .

    For $145, priced for two, diners will have an opportunity to get a taste of the Vietnamese flavors and dishes that earned Peridot a spot at No. 6 on Green’s list of Top 10 New Restaurants and Dining Experiences . Each dish is intended to be shared among two guests. Pricing includes tax, gratuity and a donation to Forgotten Harvest , a local nonprofit working to fight food insecurity in the Detroit area.

    Menu highlights, such as Peridot’s spicy, citrusy green papaya salad and grilled sea bream will be available, along with courses designed specifically for Takeover diners. Vegetarian options will also be offered.

    First Course

    Choice of:

    Kampachi and Prosciutto - kampachi sashimi, prosciutto de parma, tomatillo ponzu, honey dew, pickled Fresno, pistachio, smoked soy gel.

    or

    Ribeye Carpaccio - thin-sliced, seared ribeye, charred scallion puree, fried shallots, fish sauce vinaigrette

    Second Course

    Choice of:

    Seared Cabbage - chili hoisin marinade, fried shallots, pomegranate seed, coconut puree, pepita, Thai basil.

    or

    Green Papaya Salad - English cucumber, pickled daikon, roasted peanuts, fried shallots, spicy lime dressing, house-made beef jerky.

    Third Course

    Choice of:

    Grilled Sea Bream - Marinated grilled sea bream, lettuce wraps, pickled shallots, ginger citrus nouc cham, rice noodles.

    or

    Rohan Duck - Dgy-aged, seared duck breast, duck leg spring rolls, pan-roasted rapini, kohlrabi puree, star anise duck jus.

    or

    Spring Vegetable Curry - green curry broth, green spring vegetables, romaine lettuce, jasmine rice, herbs, lime vinaigrette.

    Along with Third Course:

    Ketchup Fried Rice- Jasmine rice, sriracha, scallions, egg, puffed rice, fried garlic.

    Fourth Course

    Choice of:

    Pavlova- Honey-lime mousse, mixed berries, lime gel.

    or

    Yuzu Citrus Tart - Yuzu citrus curd, black cardamom, diplomat cream, orange supreme, cashew crust.

    or

    Mocha Cake - coffee syrup, sweetened condensed milk, white chocolate ganache.
