Whiteside's journey in music is nothing short of inspiring. As an accomplished musician and the first artist to win the Best Contemporary Jazz Artist Award at the inaugural Jazz Music Awards in 2022, Whiteside has proven her prowess in a male-dominated genre. Her accolades also include a 2023 NAACP Image Award nomination and four nominations for the Smooth Jazz Network’s Best Artist Award.

Whiteside's success is built on a foundation of relentless hard work and a passion for her craft. She has consistently delivered top-charting hits, with nine consecutive Top Ten Billboard airplay singles by 2023, all released under her independent label, Randis Music, which she co-founded with her husband, Dennis Johnson.

Anticipation is high for Ragan Whiteside's upcoming seventh album, RAGAN, set to release in August 2024. The album’s first single, "Steppin' Out," is already making waves on radio charts. The track features notable artists Rich Harrison (a.k.a. RAH) on drums and Phil Hamilton on guitar, showcasing a high-energy collaboration that promises to captivate listeners.

You can listen to "Steppin' Out" on all major digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Pandora, and Deezer.

Whiteside's 2022 album, Thrill Ride, highlights her exceptional skill and musicality. The album, produced with the help of long-time collaborators Dennis Johnson and Bob Baldwin, includes eight tracks that blend smooth jazz with dynamic grooves. Notable contributions to the album include a modern take on Stevie Wonder’s “Don’t You Worry Bout A Thing,” produced by Chris “Big Dog” Davis, and “A Toast At Sunset,” written and performed by James Lloyd of Pieces Of A Dream. The title track, "Thrill Ride," achieved significant success, reaching No. 1 on multiple charts, including the Billboard Smooth Jazz Chart.

Beyond her recording achievements, Ragan Whiteside is also a talented voice-over artist and a devoted mother of two. In 2020, she expanded her career by becoming a radio personality. Discovered by David Linton of Jazz 91.9 WCLK, Whiteside now hosts the popular "Saturday with Ragan Whiteside" show, further cementing her influence in the jazz community.
