In Either Way, Pretty Funny, Shain Brenden captures his unique experiences and sharp wit. From recounting his struggle against the overwhelming presence of women in his family to an unforgettable incident involving an ultrasound appointment, Brenden offers a hilarious perspective on his life. He also shares his unabashed enthusiasm for NBA rookies and wraps up the album with a one-of-a-kind slam poem about working the drive-thru at McDonald's—a topic rarely explored in poetry.

Brenden, a Portland favorite and military veteran, first showcased his comedic talent during an impromptu talent show in Afghanistan on Christmas Day, when a sandstorm left his unit stranded. Since trading his military uniform for a microphone, Shain has established himself as a standout comedian over the past decade. His performances have graced platforms such as Don’t Tell Comedy, SiriusXM Radio, and numerous comedy clubs and festivals nationwide. A Black & Filipino-American comedian, writer, and actor, Brenden is proudly the second most famous person from Millington, Tennessee—just behind Justin Timberlake.
