The Museum of the Moving Image is proud to announce The Magic of Oz, a comprehensive retrospective of legendary filmmaker and performer Frank Oz, running from October 4 to November 30. Known for creating beloved characters such as Miss Piggy and Yoda, Oz's incredible career spans across puppetry, directing, and acting. The retrospective will feature screenings of all 15 films he directed, rare appearances by Oz himself, and in-depth discussions with creative partners like Pete Docter and Steve Martin.

Highlights of the series include a screening of Little Shop of Horrors on opening night, followed by an in-person conversation with Frank Oz. Other must-see events are scheduled throughout the program, such as Oz’s conversations with Pixar's Pete Docter on October 19 and a special discussion with Steve Martin after a screening of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels on November 9. Additionally, the Museum will host screenings of The Muppets Take Manhattan, The Blues Brothers, What About Bob?, The Empire Strikes Back, and many more.

This tribute also celebrates Oz’s collaboration with Jim Henson. Special screenings like A Spotlight on Miss Piggy and The Best of Frank Oz will showcase his contributions to the Muppets and Henson’s legacy.
