    10-year-old, Anniston woman dead after Randolph County crash

    RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A 10-year-old child and a 21-year-old woman are dead after a crash in Randolph County on Thursday evening, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports.

    The crash occurred on U.S. 431 about 10 miles north of Wedowee around 7:07 p.m. Thursday. Serinity Richmond, of Anniston, was fatally injured when the Nissan Altima she was driving was hit by a Ram 1500. Richmond was pronounced dead at the scene.

    The 10-year-old passenger inside the Altima was seriously injured. The child was airlifted to an area hospital, where they died from their injuries.

    Man killed in Cherokee County crash

    The driver of the Ram, 20-year-old Pell City resident Tyson McCarthy, sustained serious injuries. McCarthy was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta for treatment.

    Troopers with the ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash.
