A 36-year-old Annville woman was in a fatal crash that shutdown Route 322 Friday morning, according to the Derry Township Police Department.

At 3:28am, police responded to the 800 block of East Governor Road for a single-vehicle crash. The driver has been identified as Amanda Thome.

"Thome was operating a black GMC Terrain, west on East Governor Road when the vehicle left the north side of the roadway and struck a tree," police said in a release Saturday. "Thome was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Dauphin County Coroner's Office."

Police added that there were no other occupants or vehicles involved, but the crash remains under investigation.

Route 322 was closed for almost four hours Friday from Meadow Lane in Derry Township to Larkspur Drive in South Londonderry Township while police conducted their investigation.

The Derry Township Police Department and the Dauphin County Accident Reconstruction Team are still investigating the crash.

Police asked anyone with information about the crash to call the Derry Township Police Department at 717-534-2202 or submit a tip through the department's Crimewatch website.
