At approximately 10:39 PM CDT Monday, July 22, 2024, an earthquake occurred between Snyder and Roby Texas, just north of Highway 180 at 10:38 p.m. CDT. At 10:46 p.m. CDT, an aftershock with a magnitude of 4.4 struck in roughly the same location.
