On Friday night Phoenix Rising defeated El Paso Locomotive 2-0. Prior to tonight’s matchup, Phoenix Rising has struggled. The Chihuahuas allow Sugar Land to come back in the ninth inning to win 7-5
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The Sugar Land Space Cowboys scored five unearned runs with two outs in the ninth inning Friday and came back to beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 7-5. El Paso led by two runs with two outs in the top of the ninth when Chihuahuas reliever Tommy Nance struck out Sugar Land’s Luke Berryhill, but Berryhill reached first base on an error by first baseman Nate Mondou on the throw that would have completed the strikeout and end the game. Sugar Land scored the five runs after that miscue.
Erica Enders Nominated for Texas Sports Hall of Fame
The Texas Sports Hall of Fame Selection Committee has nominated six-time NHRA Pro Stock world champion Erica Enders to their 2025 primary ballot. Enders, a Houston native, has been competing in drag racing since she was eight years old. With 50 national event wins, 49 in the Pro Stock category, she is the winningest professional female driver in all of motorsports’ history and one of the most decorated drag racers of all time.

NORTH TEXAS — Rain on Sunday will continue to track east with drier conditions expected around midday before more storms develop with daytime heating.Temperatures are a few degrees cooler Sunday afternoon with the cloud cover around, keeping highs near 90.Keep the umbrellas handy if you are out running errands on Sunday, as more storms are possible. Severe weather is not expected but thunderstorms could produce 40 mph winds.A cold front will move through the area Monday and generate spotty showers during the morning drive, and scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon hours. The latest model trends have the front stalling out further south of DFW, keeping higher rain chances to our southeast where there is more moisture.While spotty showers are still possible in North Texas this week, we have lowered rain chances a bit. The increase in cloud cover will keep temperatures a little below normal, mainly in the lower 90s for afternoon highs.
