ANTIGO — An SUV was towed early Wednesday morning last week after rear-ending a parked SUV near the intersection of 4th Ave. and Superior St.

According to the police report about the incident, the SUV that was struck had been parked legally along 4th Ave. around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18 when another SUV traveling eastbound smashed into it. Witnesses stated the impact sent the parked SUV into the middle of the 4th Ave. and Superior St. intersection.

The driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old Antigo woman, claimed she had not seen the parked vehicle because of glare from the sun. She was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

The woman was transporting three children in the vehicle when the accident occurred. Though the vehicle sustained disabling damage to its front end, its air bags did not deploy, and no one was injured.

The report indicated that the parked vehicle was damaged, but not towed due to the collision.
