ANTIGO — The Unified School District of Antigo Board of Education has named Deborah Wagner as the district’s director of special education and pupil services.

Wagner most recently served as a special education specialist in program support and reading intervention for Hartford Union High School. With two decades of experience in special education, she began her career as a paraprofessional in 2004, later earning her teaching credential and advancing to a teaching position.

“It is an honor to welcome Deborah Wagner to our district in this key leadership role,” said Glenda Oginski, District Administrator. “Her extensive classroom experience and passion for special education will make her an excellent fit for this critical position. I am certain that her dedication to student success will allow us to continue to enhance our support for all students throughout our schools.

In her new role, Wagner will oversee the development and implementation of special education programs and services, ensuring that all students receive the support they need to thrive academically and socially.

Wagner holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She also received a master of education from UW-Superior, with a focus on special education and pupil services.

Wagner will officially start on July 1.
