ANTIGO — Cherished Baby Center opened on April 5, 2023, under Co-directors Beth Gibson and Ana Larson.

The center is housed in the basement of First Baptist Church, 414 Eckart St., Antigo and it is open on Wednesdays from 1 — 4 p.m.

The center started with a community member asking First Baptist Church for diapers for their babies and the idea ballooned from there. The center provides baby and toddler supplies to families in need. The supplies are offered free of charge after minimal paperwork. Gently used clothing sizes preemie to 4T, diapers up to size 6, along with baby bath supplies and bottles are available. We also generally have the larger items available such as: high chairs, walkers, bouncers, and pack n’ play.

Everything is donated and sanitized before being offered to families. Clothing is all washed. In one year the center has served 111 families with a total of 267 visits as of June 26. Each family is allowed to come once per calendar month. Most families are also donating items to us that a baby or toddler has outgrown. We are glad to be able to offer something that is needed within the community.
