Thunderstorms possible on start of Labor Day weekend in central Pa.
Thunderstorms could spoil some Labor Day plans as they move into the Harrisburg area later Saturday, the National Weather Service says. The weather service says strong to severe thunderstorms with gusty winds, hail and heavy rain that could lead to flash flooding are possible this afternoon into the evening. The storm alert covers a wide area that includes Franklin, Perry, Dauphin, Schuylkill, Lebanon, Cumberland, Adams, York and Lancaster counties.

Despite some confusion that was created this weekend, WWE WrestleMania won’t be returning to Philadelphia in 2026. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro created that confusion when, in a social media Q&A video, he listed WrestleMania among the events Philadelphia would be hosting in 2026 to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of the United States. The video has since been deleted, and a spokesperson for the governor issued a statement clarifying that WrestleMania 42 will not be held in Pennsylvania.
