    Amanda Correia Dava new principal at Apache Trail High School

    Apache Trail High School in Apache Junction has a new principal, Amanda Correia Dava.

    Known for her dedication and passion for student success, Dava brings a wealth of experience from her previous role at Maya High School in Phoenix where she worked as the student success advisor, according to a release.

    At Maya High School, Dava was instrumental in helping students stay on track for graduation. She guided students as they defined their career goals, whether they aimed to attend college, university, vocational or trade schools, or join the military, the release states.

    Before that, she worked in a similar position at Desert Hills High School in Gilbert, another Leona Group school. She also is a veteran of the Peace Corps and served for several years with the international organization in Mozambique.

    “Her commitment to student achievement and her ability to inspire young minds make her a perfect fit for Apache Trail High School,” the release states.

    Apache Trail High School, which starts the school year July 31, a part of The Leona Group school district, is a small, free public charter school. The school is known for its supportive environment, strong relationships with Wolfpack families and its mission to provide individualized attention to every student, the release states.

    The school offers a range of extracurricular activities that cater to diverse interests. Students can engage in gaming, government and student council, fostering a well-rounded educational experience, according to the release.

    Additionally, Apache Trail, 945 W. Apache Trail, hosts field trips throughout the school year to universities, community colleges and art institutions, broadening students’ horizons and exposing them to various educational and career pathways.

    “Principal Dava’s arrival heralds an exciting chapter for Apache Trail High School. Her leadership is expected to enhance the school’s tradition of nurturing student potential and building positive, lasting relationships within the community,” the release states.
