Orlando Encourages Post-Election Environmental Responsibility with Recycling Initiative
The City of Orlando is calling on its residents to be environmentally conscious when disposing of political paraphernalia post-election. Stepping beyond the ballot, citizens are encouraged to recycle their campaign signs and stands at designated collection sites throughout the area. This initiative, aimed at reducing landfill waste, uses recycled materials to create cleaner, alternative energy sources, as per the city's press release.

Arlington Ridge and Legacy communities to be impacted irrigation water shutoff
The Leesburg reuse water system will be shut down from Aug. 27-31 for Phase II of the wastewater treatment plant’s expansion. Due to ongoing upgrades at Leesburg’s Turnpike Wastewater Treatment Facility, the reclamation system that produces reuse water for irrigation in the Arlington Ridge and Legacy communities is scheduled to be out of service for five days. From Aug. 27 through Aug. 31, no reclaimed water will be available due to the pumping station being offline. As a precaution, affected customers are asked to turn off irrigation systems during this period.
