If you are lactose intolerant, have a dairy allergy, or just don’t want milk products in your diet, you have to trust that the food label is correct.

On Wednesday, Yummy Foods, based in Edison, announced the recall of its Yummy Swirly Ices due to possible cross contamination, according to a press release from the FDA.

Traces of milk were found in the products distributed through retail supermarkets in New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Ohio, Chicago, Florida and California.

The recall was initiated following an incident when an allergen-sensitive consumer felt discomfort after eating a Swirly Ice.

    Recalled products include:

    • Swirly Tropical melon
    • Swirly Berry Blast
    • Swirly Tropical Tornado
    • Swirly Churning Cherry
    • Swirly Variety Pack

The recalled products have lot numbers 68/2 and 69/1, and expiration dates of May 28, 2026, and May 30, 2026.

Recalled products can be returned to the original store of purchase for a full refund.

The investigation into the cross contamination is ongoing.
