Monmouth County DWI Task Force announces location of this weekend’s sobriety checkpoint

ALLENHURST - A sobriety checkpoint will be set up on Main Street this weekend, according to the Monmouth County DWI Task Force.

From 9 p.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday, all northbound motor vehicles on Main Street will be diverted onto Elberon Avenue where law enforcement officers will speak with drivers to ensure they are not intoxicated, said Allenhurst Police Chief Michael Schneider, who is also the task force coordinator.

During the four-hour operation, task force members will be working alongside Allenhurst police officers.
