BERKELEY − A 4-year-old boy is in critical but stable condition at Jersey Shore University Medical Center after being found unresponsive in a swimming pool in South Seaside Park on Saturday, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

Berkeley police responded to the home in the barrier island neighborhood at about 3:30 p.m. Friday after a report that the child had been taken from the swimming pool and was unresponsive, the prosecutor said. Emergency life-saving techniques were performed on the boy and he was taken the hospital.
