    When do hummingbirds leave NJ?

Hummingbirds typically begin their migration south in late summer or early fall, around August or September. This timing varies slightly depending on the species and their specific location.

    Hummingbird migration

Hummingbird migration is a remarkable journey. These tiny birds fly thousands of miles, often crossing over bodies of water. They rely on a combination of instinct, favorable weather conditions and abundant food sources along their migration route.

    Where do hummingbirds migrate to?

Most hummingbirds that breed in North America migrate to Central America or Mexico for the winter. These regions offer warmer temperatures and abundant food sources.

    Hummingbird wing speed

Hummingbirds are known for their incredible wing speed. They can flap their wings up to 80 times per second. This rapid flapping allows them to hover in mid-air and perform acrobatic maneuvers.
