Rutgers football will look to continue its early-season momentum by picking up a win over Akron today at SHI Stadium.

The Scarlet Knights are coming off a 44-7 win over Howard while the Zips lost on the road last week to No. 2 Ohio State 52-26.

Rutgers coach Greg Schiano and Akron coach Joe Moorhead are plenty familiar with each other. They went up against each other from 2009-11 when Schiano was in his first stint with Rutgers and Moorhead was the offensive coordinator at UConn, then again in 2016-17 when Schiano was the defensive coordinator at Ohio State and Moorhead was the OC at Penn State.

This will be just the second time Rutgers and Akron have played each other (the first was on Oct. 27, 1990, a 20-17 Rutgers victory in Piscataway.
