From the sands to the swamps, there's a lot of big concerts coming to New Jersey and the area this fall.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band headline the much-anticipated Sea Hear Now music, surf and art fest Saturday, Sept. 14, and Sunday, Sept. 15. Boss and gang play on Sunday, and other performers on the fest's three stages on the North Beach and in Bradley Park include Noah Kahan, the Gaslight Anthem, the Trey Anastasio Band, the Black Crowes, Norah Jones, 311, the Revivalists, Kool & The Gang, and the Hives.
In the swamps at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, Pink plays Thursday, Oct. 3; Travis Scott on Wednesday, Oct 9.
On the teen and 20someting pop side, the Sabrina Carpenter Short n' Sweet Tour is a hot ticket at multiple venues in the region. The 25-year old former Disney star is bringing sexy back to the pop charts, says the Atlantic.

Indigo De Souza coming to Asbury Park
A native of Asheville, North Carolina, Indigo De Souza is bringing a fresh take to indie rock with synthy swirls, a little headbanging, a dash of crunchy guitars, a voice that's out of this world, and songs about earthbound topics. She's someone to watch.
The 27-year old is coming to Asbury Lanes on Monday, Sept. 23.

Sabrina Carpenter on Short 'n Sweet Tour
Parents just don't understand.
Sabrina Carpenter's new album, “Short n’ Sweet,” is apparently a bit too racy for many moms and dads. The album is “chock-full of innuendos, expletives and sexually charged lyrics,” according to the New York Post.
“Let’s pray for all the mums of 9-year-old kiddies wanting to play ‘Short n’ Sweet’ in the car right now,” said a fan on TikTok video.
Carpenter, a 25-year old from Quakertown, Pennsylvania, first gained notice on Disney's “Girl Meets World,” and she's been releasing records since 2013. Now she's playing Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Sept. 29; the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Monday, Sept. 30; and the Wells Fargo Center in Philly on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Pink to play MetLife Stadium
Pop star Pink made headlines last month when she permed her hit “What About Us” at the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Partly because she was joined by daughter Willow Sage Hart for the moving rendition.
No, Pink did not perform any of her aerial stunts that her concerts are famous for at the convention, but you can be sure fans will be getting a lift when she plays MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on Thursday, Oct.3
She’s sure come a long way since the days she used to play Club Abyss in Sayreville.

Billie Eilish coming to Newark, NYC, Philly
Billie Eilish grabbed the musical gold at the Olympics.
Eilish, whose “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour comes to the Prudential Center in Newark on Wednesday, Oct. 9, sang her new song, “Birds of a Feather,” during the Olympics closing ceremony on Aug. 12. The performance took place via remote in Los Angeles, where the summer games are headed next after Paris. The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Snoop Dogg were also part of the musical tableau in Long Beach, California.
Eilish's hits include “Bad Guy,” “Therefore I Am,” “No Time to Die,” “My Future” and “What Was I Made For” from the “Barbie” soundtrack. The “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour also comes to the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Saturday, Oct. 5, and Madison Square Garden in New York on Oct. 16, 17 and 18.
Tickets for the tour are “restricted from transfer” and are in mobile format, thus restricting the secondary ticket market and scalping.

Travis Scott coming to MetLife
What's the forecast for October? Hip-hop with a chance of an earthquake.
Travis Scott, whose Circus Maximus Tour comes to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on Wednesday, Oct 9, has been literally rocking Europe. The locals thought the earth shook when Scott played his “rager” anthem “Fe!n” eight times in a show at his July 23 show at the Ippodromo Snai La Maura venue in Milan, according to the Il Messaggero website.
The Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology said there was no earthquake, but the 80,000 in attendance were certainly rocked.

Junior H coming to Newark
Why so sad? Mexican music star Junior H is bringing his $ad Boyz Mania U.S. Tour to the Prudential Center in Newark on Friday, Oct. 18. The show is one of only 20 cities on the jaunt.
The 23-year-old is a darkly romantic singer of corridos tumbados, a modern version the traditional Mexican corrido ballad style. His latest album, “$ad Boyz 4 Life II,” was a Top 20 Billboard 200 hit — and Bad Bunny is a fan. Hundreds of millions around the world are, too, judging from the amount of his streams.

Diana Ross making the rounds
Who's coming out in 2024? It's Diana Ross.
The Motown icon has two upcoming shows in the area: Saturday, Oct 19 at the Hard Rock Live in Atlantic City, and Sunday, Oct 27, at BergenPAC in Englewood. The concerts are part of Ross' Beautiful Love Performances — Legacy 2024 Tour, and she's doing quite well, thank you. The Tampa Bay Times called her “dazzling” when she played the BayCare Sound venue May 9 in Clearwater, Florida.
Did we mention she's 80 and she's still leaving audiences with love hangovers? The BergenPAC show is the venue's annual gala.

Rising jazz star comes to New Jersey
Who's the new face, and voice, of jazz?
It's Samara Joy, who's coming Thursday, Nov. 7, to the Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, and Wednesday, Dec. 4, to the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown.
Joy, 24, has already won three Grammy wards, including Best New Artist for 2023. The Bronx native's 2022 album, “Linger Awhile,” was a hit in the jazz world, and her Grammy gets have brought her to the mainstream.
A new album, “Portrait,” is due Friday, Oct. 11, on Verve Records. It will contain Joy's take on jazz standards, and new material, too. (She recorded the album at the Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs.)
The Morristown show is her part of her third annual A Joyful Holiday Tour featuring the McLendon Family, which features a night of jazz and seasonal gospel favorites.

Morrissey takes two in Jersey
Oasis may be reuniting, but don't look for the Smiths getting back together anytime soon.
Frontman Morrissey said Smiths lead guitarist Johnny Marr “ignored” a reunion offer while he replied in the affirmative, according to the singer's “Morrissey Center” website. In any instance, it wouldn't have been a full reunion as bassist Andy Rourke passed away in 2023 at the age of 59.
A Morrissey North American tour begins on Halloween in Houston, and there are two Jersey shows: Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, and Friday, Nov. 15, at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City.

KC and the Sunshine Band in the Party Zone
More than 50 years since they first made fans shake their booties, KC and The Sunshine Band are still in the party zone.
The band — with hits including “Give It Up,” “That’s the Way (I Like It),” “Please Don’t Go,” “Get Down Tonight,” “Boogie Shoes,” “I’m Your Boogie Man” and “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty” — is coming through with shows Friday, Nov. 22, at Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown, and Saturday, Nov. 23, at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City. They're part of the Party Zone 2024 Tour.
“I remember that I always wanted to do something that would make people forget about their problems and be happy,” says Harry Wayne Casey, aka KC, on the band's website.
Mission accomplished.
