    Karl-Anthony Towns is coming home.

    Closer to home, anyway.

The Edison native was traded to the New York Knicks on Friday night. The news was first tweeted by Shams Charania.

The deal sends Towns to New York in exchange for power forward Julius Randle and shooter Donte DiVincenzo. The Knicks also gave up a first-round pick in the trade.

Towns averages just under 23 points per game and 10.8 rebounds. He's also been an All Star four times.

Towns grew up in Piscataway and played for St. Joe's Metuchen before attending Kentucky. His father played basketball at Monmouth.
