The northern lights might be visible tonight from New Jersey.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has been forecasting space geomagnetic activity in recent days and Tuesday night might be the last chance to to catch some views of aurora borealis stemming from the geomagnetic storm.

States within or partially included in the view line include Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Maine.

New Jersey is not included within the viewing line, but neither is Pennsylvania and there were reports of sightings around Bucks County on Tuesday overnight, a few miles away from New Jersey's Hunterdon County. So it might worth checking the sky here as well.

In Wisconsin's forecast , for instance, northern lights were expected to be visible from the northern parts of the state only, but on Monday and Tuesday night most of state was able to catch a view of the northern lights.

According to NOAA, the best time to see aurora borealis is between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. local time.
