Central Middle wins County Championship
Pike County held the first-ever JV Baseball Tournament this season and Pike Central Middle came out on top as the champions. The Pike Central team consisted of Kam Smith, Peyton Knausz, Luke Blankenship, Trey Lindon, Carson Huffman, Peyton Collins, Blake Maynard, Bentley Barnett, Gabe Varney, Blake Mullins, Eli Bowman and Edmond Damron.
Pike man arrested on charges including trafficking in meth
A Pike man is facing numerous charges after Kentucky State Police said they conducted a "knock and talk" at his residence. According to a citation written by KSP Trooper Daniel Saylor, on June 4, the Post 9 Criminal Interdiction Team went to the residence of Thomas Jervis, 39, at Perry Stanley Road, Hardy, in reference to suspected drug trafficking by Jervis.

Governor names Pikeville a Kentucky trail town
The City of Pikeville now joins the ranks of several other Eastern Kentucky towns designated as “trail towns” following a presentation by Gov. Andy Beshear on June 5. Pikeville is the second city in Pike County to receive a trail town designation and the 29th statewide. Elkhorn City, situated along the Russell Fork of the Big Sandy River and gateway to the Breaks Interstate Park, was previously named as a trail town.
