The public is invited to spend an evening stargazing at the Victor Valley Museum in Apple Valley this month.

The "Cosmic Nights" event is scheduled to take place from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on July 13 at the museum, 11873 Apple Valley Rd., organizers said.

The High Desert Astronomical Society will provide telescopes for public viewing.

"The event takes place outdoors, weather permitting, and guests are advised to wear comfortable clothing and shoes," museum representatives said in a written statement. "The evenings feature telescope viewing, an opportunity to discuss astronomy with the telescope operators, and visitors are also encouraged to bring binoculars or set up their own telescopes."

The museum's galleries will also be open during the event.

Admission will cost $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 to 12. Kids 5 and under are free. Military and seniors will be admitted for $8, while the student price will be $7. Parking is free.

More information on the Victor Valley Museum can be found on the organization's web page at museum.sbcounty.gov/victor-valley-museum.
