A tracking device helped deputies and store employees arrest a man and woman linked to a burglary at an Apple Valley Dollar General store prior to opening on Wednesday, officials said.

The burglary took place about 4:50 a.m. at the store at Navajo and Powhatan roads, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

A 911 caller told dispatchers that video at the business showed a person putting merchandise into a bag and leaving through the back door of the business, sheriff's officials said in a written statement . Deputies were informed that a tracker had been placed on the merchandise and the caller was able to follow the merchandise.

Jose Alberto Hernandez, 30, of Banning and Leah Danyel Moore, 26, of Beaumont were arrested on suspicion of burglary and criminal conspiracy, according to San Bernardino County booking records.
