    Operation Best Friend: Meet Keeva!

    By Morgan Huff,

    2024-05-15

On Operation Best Friend, the Benton-Franklin Humane Society will feature one dog that's looking for a home every Wednesday on Good Morning Northwest.

On May 15th, the dog of the day was 11-month-old Blue Heeler, Siberian Husky mix, Keeva.

Keeva came to BFHS in August 2023 at only 3 weeks old with her other littermates.

Keeva was adopted and then given back to the shelter because the family said a puppy wasn't a good fit.

BFHS said Keeva will need a family with patience, understanding and commitment to train her and help her create good manners.

BFHS said blue heelers are very strong dogs physically and mentally, needing a lot of play time and walks to get some of that energy out.

Keeva is expected to get a tiny bit bigger, growing to about the size of a small Husky.

She loves squeaky toys, tug-of-war and running through the yard to chase butterflies.

Keeva does have a small amount of socialization with other dogs but will need introductions to new friends.

She does okay with kids but BFHS recommends a family that has dog-savvy children due to Keeva's high-energy.

Keeva is spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines. His adoption fee is $350.

The family who decides to adopt any of the pets featured weekly will receive a $50 gift card to Paws Natural Pet Emporium.

The Benton Franklin Humane Society is located at 1736 East 7th Avenue, Kennewick, WA 99337

Watch #OperationBestFriend every Wednesday on Good Morning Northwest at 5 and 6 a.m.
