YAKIMA, Wash. — Yakima-area senior living facilities have teamed up with the Yakima Valley Pippins for the 2nd annual Alzheimer's Awareness Night set for June 9.

Highgate Senior Living, Avamere Englewood Heights, Fieldstone Orchard West and Brookdale Senior Living are also putting on a fundraiser leading up to the game.

The organizations are auctioning off 44 special Pippins jerseys that the players will wear to the game that night and then autograph.

They’re hoping to double the $4,000 dollars they raised last year and all proceeds will go to Walk to End Alzheimer's.

“It provides support for the Yakima Valley resources, support groups, classes, many different things: research to help find a cure," said Mandy Ketcham, dementia support specialist at Highgate Senior Living.

People have until Alzheimer's Awareness Night on June 9 to bid on the jerseys online here . Tickets to the game can also be purchased here .
