Kennewick community honors Memorial Day

KENNEWICK, Wash. - On Monday morning, Riverview Heights Cemetery and Mueller's Tri-Cities hosted ceremonies, to honor those who served.

People started showing up at around 8:30 a.m.

VFW Post 5785 welcomed the crowd. After a call to colors and the 'pledge of allegiance', Post Chaplain Art King introduced Senator Perry Dozier (R), who gave a speech.

The Columbia River Young Marines held their salute to the fallen soldier, followed by a dedication to the missing man table.

Monday's ceremony wrapped up with the placement of the wreaths and a comrade roll call.

The Veterans we spoke with said Memorial Day is very important to Southeast Washington.
