This Afternoon and Evening: An upper-level disturbance is causing showers and thunderstorms across the eastern mountains. The radar shows several cells producing lightning and rain. Some areas have received around 0.04 inches of rain, with more expected through the afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms will continue, especially from central Oregon through the central and eastern mountains. A Red Flag Warning is in effect until 11 PM for these areas due to abundant lightning. The rest of the area will see overcast and hazy conditions with lows in the 50s.

Saturday: Another disturbance will settle just offshore, bringing more moisture and instability to the region. This will result in thunderstorms forming along the Cascade crests and eastern slopes. These storms could bring heavy downpours, with some areas potentially receiving up to 0.50 inches of rain. The storms may move slowly, increasing the risk of flash flooding, especially near recent burn scars. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for the eastern slopes of the Cascades from Saturday afternoon through late Saturday night.

Long Term (Sunday through Thursday): The weather will be influenced by an upper low offshore, keeping a southwesterly flow across the region. Conditions will be generally calm and warm, but not too hot, with temperatures reaching 90 degrees in the Columbia Basin on Sunday. Rain chances are low, with a slight chance of showers along the Washington Cascade Crest. Thunderstorm chances are also low, around 10% each day. Expect light winds with occasional weak marine pushes, but no significant wind events are anticipated .
