    Man arrested for DUI after hitting Pasco woman with car, WSP says

    KENNEWICK, Wash. - A 26-year-old woman was taken to the hospital early Sunday morning after being hit by a car.

    Francisco Barajas Hernandez, 26, of Benton City, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and felony hit and run. He was taken to the Benton County Jail.

    It happened around 2:12 a.m. The Washington State Patrol said the woman was walking on the sidewalk going north on SR 397 in Kennewick when the driver of a car, later identified as Barajas Hernandez, drove up onto the sidewalk and hit the woman.

    Authorities said Barajas Hernandez then left the area, still going northbound.

    Officers with the Kennewick Police Department later stopped Barajas Hernandez and arrested him. At last check, he remains in the jail.

    The condition of the woman is not known at this time.
