Thursday : The low-pressure system will move south, setting up near the Oregon coast. Rain will mostly fall along the Cascade Mountains and nearby slopes. Isolated thunderstorms may develop along the Cascades due to increased instability. In eastern Oregon, dry and warm air will move in, bringing elevated fire weather conditions, though no Red Flag Warnings are expected.

Friday : The low-pressure system will move further inland, spreading showers across the region. The eastern mountains and parts of central Washington will have a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms. There’s a 30-60% chance of showers in the lower elevations and a 50-85% chance in the mountains. Breezy winds will develop through the Cascade gaps and into the Columbia Basin, with cooler-than-normal temperatures expected. Highs will range from the 60s to 70s in the lower elevations.

    Saturday through Wednesday:

    • Saturday : Expect cool, fall-like temperatures in the 60s to low 70s as the weather system moves inland. Widespread rain is likely, especially in the Blues, Wallowas , and Cascades, helping to slow current fires and reduce the risk of new ones. There’s a small chance of thunderstorms, mainly in the Wallowas , but rain should help reduce the fire threat.

Sunday through Wednesday : A brief warming trend will bring temperatures back to near-normal levels, with highs in the 80s. By midweek, another weather system could move in, cooling temperatures back into the 70s. While significant rain is not expected with this system, it may bring breezy winds across the region. Moderate to high confidence (60-80%) exists in this forecast, though there is some uncertainty about how deep and impactful the next system will be.
