    All Washington Counties directed to recount Commissioner of Public Lands primary election race

    STATEWIDE -- A manual recount for the Office of Commissioner of Public Lands has been directed by the Office of the Secretary of State to all Washington State Counties.

    Every county in Washington, including Benton County, will conduct recounts individually.

    The Benton County Elections Division will meet beginning Saturday, August 24 at 9 a.m. to begin recounting.

    Officials said the recount is expected to take 4 days to complete while staff follow the schedule below:

    • Saturday, August 24 - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Monday, August 26 - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Tuesday, August 27 - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Wednesday, August 28 - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. unless finished early.

    All counties are expected to certify recount results on September 3 and the Secretary of State's office will certify results on September 4.

    The Benton County Elections Division is located at 2618 N. Columbia Center Blvd., Richland. This will be an open public meeting and we invite observers and news media to be present. If you have any questions, please contact the Elections Division at (509) 736-3085
